Featuring our documentary in production: El Campo
El Campo is a documentary film created by director/producer Esau Melendez and his team. The film captures and exalts the untold stories of the Chicago boxcar communities, many of which embody the triumphant pursuit and fulfillment of the “American Dream,” despite many challenges and obstacles.
One of the missing pages of American history that involves labor and, more importantly, industry in the entire Midwest: Railroads,” states American immigration historian Dr. Antonio Delgado. The railroad boxcar communities are part of the legacy left behind by the many Mexican railroad workers recruited to lay track and provide labor, maintenance, and services for the multitude of railroads running through the Midwest in the 20th century.
